It was around 4pm when after some little twists we finally got out of the airplane on Fukuoka airport. We were expected and Nakagawa sensei together with my dear father-in-law, Mr. Fukuda, was already waiting for our arrival. Although the weather forecast was rather catastrophic, suggesting only 10°C (c. 50°F) in Kumamoto, the weather was actually quite pleasant – sunny and c. 15 – 19°C (c. 59 – 66°F). After loading our luggage into the cars it took us 2 hours to get to Kumamoto, to the house of Mr. Tanaka, whom we had already met last year. We were accommodated in a small house with tatami mats and when ready we went to Hotaru spa that we already had the pleasure of visiting during our last year visit. Miss Watanabe, employee of that facility, who found and handed my lost wallet with all money and passport back to me last year, was not in duty. Nevertheless, hot water in the outside bath rotenburo helped us to refresh and washed off the dust from traveling as well as part of the tiredness after more than 14 hours spent in the air. It is amazing to let yourself soak in the 40°C (104°F) water and watch the stars.
